West Riyadh brings together some of the city’s oldest residential districts and some of its newest. As Suwaidi, Al Uraija and Al Badiah are full of large family houses and busy apartment blocks; Dhahrat Laban, Tuwaiq and Al Mahdiyah have modern villas and duplexes; and around the Diplomatic Quarter and Al Khuzama you find spacious villas with gardens. Wadi Hanifa separates some of these areas from others, so choosing the right arrival time is part of a successful visit. This guide answers what families in the west want to know: what it costs, how many hours you need, what the maid does and when she can reach you most easily.
How much is an hourly maid in West Riyadh?
The price depends on the number of hours and maids, not on which western district you live in. Dropping off and collecting the maid is on us, whether your home is in Irqah or Dahiyat Namar. These are Al-Kauther’s starting prices in Riyadh:
Source: Al-Kauther Home Services hourly maid prices for Riyadh. These are starting prices; the final price is confirmed at booking based on hours, number of maids, size of home and shift.
What moves the price up or down? Four things: the number of hours, the number of maids, how often you book (a package works out cheaper than single visits) and the shift you choose. Any difference for evenings or Fridays is confirmed when you book. If you are planning a large occasion or have a home with several annexes, ask for a price on WhatsApp after sending us the details.
The hourly rate falls as the visit gets longer
Divide each visit price by its hours and an hour of work on a 4-hour visit comes to about SAR 34, falling to about SAR 33 on a 6-hour visit and about SAR 29 on an 8-hour visit. So a family with a large villa in Al Khuzama or Irqah saves more by booking one long visit rather than two short ones in the same week, while flat owners in As Suwaidi and Al Uraija are usually well served by a regular 4-hour booking.
West Riyadh districts our maids reach
To plan arrival times, we group the western districts into four clusters according to the roads that serve them. The list is not exhaustive — if your district sits close to one of these clusters, we can most likely reach you.
Diplomatic Quarter, Al Khuzama and Irqah: big villas, high privacy
In these districts near King Khalid Road, large villas with gardens and several majlis rooms are common, and many residents prefer a regular maid who knows the house. That is why twice- or three-times-weekly packages, 8-hour visits and two-maid bookings are popular here.
As Suwaidi, Al Uraija and Al Badiah: busy family homes
These are among the most densely populated parts of Riyadh, with apartment blocks and older and newer houses side by side. Families tend to be large, and the most requested booking is a 4-hour visit focused on the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. Parking can be tight on some narrow streets, so a precise address or a shared map pin shortens the arrival time.
Dhahrat Laban, Tuwaiq and Al Mahdiyah: newer duplex districts
West of Wadi Hanifa, new residential plans keep spreading, and most homes are two-storey duplexes or mid-sized villas. Stairs and two floors make a 4-hour visit tight if you want a full clean, so we usually suggest 6 hours or two maids.
Namar, Al Hazm, Dirab and Al Awali
The south-west has residential districts stretching along Dirab Road and Najm Ad Din Al Ayyubi Road, dominated by family villas and duplexes with courtyards. You can set aside part of the visit for a small courtyard or outdoor seating area, but large yards and gardens are not core work for an hourly maid.
How to choose the right number of hours for a western home
A rule of thumb we use with families: count the bedrooms and bathrooms, then add the kitchen. A two- or three-bedroom flat with two bathrooms is covered by 4 hours with one maid. A duplex with four or five bedrooms and three bathrooms needs 6 hours, or 4 hours with two maids. A villa with a men’s majlis, a family lounge, an annexe and more than four bathrooms needs 8 hours or two maids. If the home is generally clean and you only want weekly upkeep, fewer hours than its size suggests may be enough.

What an hourly maid does in West Riyadh homes
Each visit begins with a short walk-round with the lady of the house to agree priorities, then the maid works through them in the agreed order. These tasks are part of an hourly visit:
Large bathrooms need their time
Modern villas in West Riyadh often have spacious bathrooms with marble walls and double basins — sometimes five or more in one house. Cleaning a bathroom like that properly, including the grout, the glass and water marks, takes longer than most families expect. If your home has more than four bathrooms, set aside roughly half the visit for them or book a second maid.

Outside the scope of a visit
- ×Preparing full meals: the maid helps in the kitchen but does not cook.
- ×Caring for children or elderly relatives on her own: children stay with their family.
- ×Exterior façades, high places, cleaning water tanks and lifting heavy furniture.
- ×Jobs that need specialist machines, such as steam-cleaning sofas and carpets or floor polishing.
Hourly maid or live-in maid?
Many families in the west weigh this up before deciding. The table below is for comparison and information only — Al-Kauther provides hourly and visit-based service alone:
When do West Riyadh families book an hourly maid?
Not every family needs a fixed weekly visit; some book only for particular seasons and occasions. These are the situations we hear about most from western districts:
In the newer plans west of the wadi, pre-move-in cleaning is a frequent request. Note that heavy paint and cement residue left after fit-out needs a cleaning company with special equipment; dust, floors, bathrooms and cupboards are work for an hourly maid.
Steps to book an hourly maid in West Riyadh
- 1WhatsApp or call us on 0561940026.
- 2Tell us your district (for example As Suwaidi Al Gharbi or Dhahrat Laban), type of home and number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
- 3Choose the length, number of maids and shift — we will suggest the best fit if you are unsure.
- 4We confirm the price and time and send the maid on schedule.
- 5Your hours start the moment she walks in, and we collect her when the visit ends.
The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking. It is best for a woman of the household to be present during the visit to direct and follow the work.
Best time for a visit in West Riyadh
We have a morning shift that usually starts between 8 and 10 am and an evening shift that usually starts between 4 and 6 pm; the exact time is confirmed at booking. In Ramadan we adjust timings to suit fasting hours. Practical pointers depending on where you live:
Because time is counted from arrival, you never lose hours to traffic — but an earlier arrival also means an earlier finish, which matters if you are expecting guests in the evening.
Hourly maid packages for villas and large homes
An Al-Kauther package is a series of hourly visits on a fixed day of the week, not a live-in maid. You choose the number of visits and we reserve the same shift for you all month:
- 4 visits × 4 hours: from SAR 460, for families happy with one day a week.
- 8 visits × 4 hours: from SAR 875, a good fit for duplexes in Dhahrat Laban and Tuwaiq.
- 12 visits × 4 hours: from SAR 1,320, a good fit for villas in Al Khuzama and the Diplomatic Quarter that host often.
Legal domestic labour and the fines for using unlicensed workers
Getting a maid from someone who “rents out” their worker, or a maid who has absconded from her sponsor, is a risk for the household, not just the worker. The Domestic Workers Regulation forbids an employer from letting their worker work for others, with a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a recruitment ban of up to 3 years. Employing, transporting or sheltering residency and labour violators can lead to up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000 per violator.
A licensed company is the party that keeps track of the maid’s residency status and fitness, takes her to the home and back, and handles the family’s feedback. A maid who comes through an unknown middleman has no clear status and no one the family can turn to if something goes wrong.
That is why Al-Kauther works only with legally employed maids holding valid residency permits, and the company takes care of their transport and supervision — so your family gets the service without any legal obligation towards the worker.
Maid nationalities
Our maids are of African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at the time of booking, such as Kenyan and Ugandan. Mention your preferred nationality and we will tell you whether it is available for your slot. All our maids are trained in cleaning and tidying, wear modest uniforms and respect the privacy of your home.
Before the maid arrives: a short checklist
- ✓Send your location on the map, especially in the new plans west of the wadi.
- ✓Pick three priorities for the visit — four hours go quickly in a large home.
- ✓Close any rooms you would rather she did not enter and put valuables away.
- ✓On long visits of 6 or 8 hours, agree a short mid-visit break with the maid.
- ✓If your plans change, tell us early — ideally 24 hours ahead.
