East Riyadh is family territory first and foremost: rows of duplex villas, mid-rise apartment blocks and roomier detached villas in the newer north-eastern districts. That mix means an hourly maid is never a one-size booking. A three-bedroom flat in An Naseem is usually done in 4 hours, while a two-storey duplex in Qurtubah tends to need 6 hours or two maids. This guide covers the districts we serve in the east, the right visit length for each kind of home, our prices, what a visit does and does not include, and how to book in a few short steps.

East Riyadh districts we cover with hourly maids

We split the east into three practical groups, because the road our driver takes decides the real arrival time far more than the distance on a map. The grouping is approximate; what matters is that you tell us your district when you book so we can give you the right arrival window.

North-east: around King Abdullah Road and Dammam Road

This group takes in Qurtubah, Al Yarmuk, Al Munsiyah, Ar Rimal, Gharnatah, Al Hamra, Al Quds and Al Janadriyah. Housing here is mostly recent: stone-fronted duplexes, detached villas with courtyards and new apartment buildings. Ar Rimal is reached from Exit 8 on the Eastern Ring Road and Al Hamra sits around Exits 9 and 10, which are the reference points we use when planning drop-off runs. Homes are generally larger, so 6- and 8-hour visits and two-maid bookings are common.

Central east: along Khurais Road and the Eastern Ring Road

This covers Ar Rawdah, Al Andalus, Ar Rayyan, Al Khaleej, An Nahdah, King Faisal, Ishbiliyah and Al Qadisiyah. Ar Rawdah is one of the oldest and busiest districts in the east, close to the King Fahd International Stadium area, and is surrounded by densely populated family neighbourhoods. Khurais Road is the artery linking these districts with the rest of the city and it gets heavy in the morning, so families here usually do best with an early morning slot or an evening slot after the afternoon prayer.

South-east: An Naseem, Al Manar and nearby

This group includes An Naseem East and West, An Nadhim, As Salam, Al Manar, Ar Rawabi, Al Faiha and Ash Shuhada. Homes are a blend of older renovated houses, mid-sized duplexes and family apartment blocks. Families here often book one fixed 4-hour visit a week, because the house is medium-sized and the real need is to keep it clean rather than start from scratch every time.

How many hours does a maid need for your East Riyadh home?

The first thing that sets the price is the number of hours, not the district name. Book too few and the maid finishes one part and leaves another; book too many and you pay for time you do not need. The table below is based on the kinds of homes common in the east and gives you a starting point, which we fine-tune with you at booking based on bedrooms, bathrooms and the jobs on your list.

Type of homeWhat usually gets doneSuggested length
Two- or three-bedroom flatFull clean of rooms, kitchen and bathrooms, living room tidy4 hours, one maid
Mid-sized two-storey duplexBoth floors plus kitchen, bathrooms and stairs6 hours, or 4 hours with two maids
Detached villa with annexe and majlisFull clean including majlis, annexe and inside glass8 hours, or two maids
Home after a family gatheringClearing hospitality, majlis and kitchen5–6 hours depending on guests
Tip: In a duplex, book two maids for 4 hours instead of one maid for 8 if you want everything done before midday. A two-maid visit starts from SAR 290 and gets the house done in roughly half the time.

Hourly maid prices in East Riyadh

Al-Kauther charges the same Riyadh prices in the east as everywhere else in the city. There is no extra fee because a district is far from the centre, and dropping off and collecting the maid is our responsibility. Prices below are starting prices for one maid unless stated otherwise:

Source: Al-Kauther Home Services hourly maid price list for Riyadh. The final price depends on hours, number of maids, size of home and the shift chosen, and is confirmed when you book.

A quick sum shows the difference: four separate weekly 4-hour visits come to 4 × 135 = SAR 540 a month, while the monthly package for the same visits starts from SAR 460. So if your family knows it needs help every week, the package is cheaper and locks in your day and shift. Evening, Friday and public-holiday availability, and any price difference for them, are confirmed at booking. For large events, ask for a price on WhatsApp once you have described the space and the number of guests.

What does an hourly maid do during the visit?

An hourly maid comes to take care of the housework that eats into your family’s time and energy, working through a list you agree with her at the start. The clearer and better prioritised the list, the more gets done in four hours. These are the main tasks a visit covers:

  • ✓Rooms and living areas: sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting furniture, surfaces and doors.
  • ✓Kitchen and dishes: washing up, wiping counters and cupboard fronts, the hob, extractor hood and sink.
  • ✓Bathrooms: basins, toilets, floors, nearby walls and mirrors, with taps polished.
  • ✓Laundry and ironing: running the machine, hanging, folding and ironing whatever you choose.
  • ✓Windows and inside glass: glass panes, mirrors and glass doors from the inside.
  • ✓Majlis and rugs: vacuuming rugs, arranging seating and wiping tables.
  • ✓Tidying: bedrooms, wardrobes and children’s play areas.
  • ✓Occasions: setting up and serving hospitality, and cleaning up once guests leave.
Kitchen cleaning in East Riyadh
The kitchen is what East Riyadh families ask for most on a weekly visit: the hood, the counters and the dishes.

Kitchen first in large-family homes

In eastern homes with big families, the kitchen is the room that gets dirty fastest: cooking for several meals, tea and coffee for guests, and grease building up on the extractor hood and the wall behind the hob. If the kitchen is your priority, we suggest the maid starts there, moves on to the bathrooms and then the rooms. She can help with light preparation such as washing vegetables and setting out serving ware, but she does not cook full meals.

What an hourly maid visit does not include

We set out the limits of the service up front so that a booking never turns into a disagreement at the door. These limits follow the practice of licensed labour companies in the market and protect both the family and the maid:

  • ×Cooking full meals: help in the kitchen means cleaning and light preparation only.
  • ×Looking after children or elderly relatives alone: children stay with the family throughout the visit.
  • ×Hazardous work: climbing exterior façades, cleaning water tanks or lifting heavy furniture.
  • ×Large courtyards, gardens and open roofs as the main job, unless agreed within the visit time.
  • ×Work that needs specialist machines, such as steam-cleaning sofas or polishing marble.
Note: It is best for a woman of the household to be at home during the visit; it is more comfortable for the maid and the family and makes directing the work easier.

Cleaning after gatherings in eastern districts

Family dinners and gatherings in the majlis or a rest house are part of life in the east, especially in holidays, at Eid and around engagements and weddings. The next morning the family faces a majlis full of coffee cups and plates, rugs dotted with crumbs and a kitchen piled with dishes. This is where a 5- or 6-hour visit, or two maids for 4 hours, is the practical way to get the house back to normal the same morning.

After-event cleaning in East Riyadh
The morning after a gathering: clearing cups and plates and cleaning the majlis and rugs.

You can also book a maid before the occasion to prepare the majlis and set up hospitality, then a second visit afterwards for the clean-up. Demand in the east rises sharply before Ramadan and Eid, so we recommend booking a few days ahead to secure the shift you want.

Cleaning before moving in or after moving out

Many families move into new duplexes and flats in districts such as Ar Rimal, Al Yarmuk and Al Munsiyah, or hand back a rented home in the central east to the landlord. Either way, the home needs a thorough clean of floors, bathrooms, kitchen, the inside of cupboards and the glass. We recommend an 8-hour visit or two maids here. Bear in mind that heavy paint and cement residue after fit-out work needs a cleaning company with equipment, not an hourly maid.

Arrival times and traffic on the Eastern Ring Road and Khurais Road

We run two shifts: a morning shift that usually starts between 8 and 10 am, and an evening shift that usually starts between 4 and 6 pm, with the exact time confirmed when you book. Your visit is timed from the moment the maid arrives at your home, not from when she sets off, so you lose none of your hours to traffic. In Ramadan the shifts move to suit fasting hours, and we agree them with each family.

  • •North-east districts: arrival is easier early in the morning, before the King Abdullah Road rush.
  • •Central east districts: avoid the Khurais Road peak; the evening shift after the afternoon prayer is a comfortable option.
  • •South-east districts: both shifts work well; mornings suit families who want the work done before the children come home from school.
  • •Fridays and holidays: availability and any price difference are confirmed at booking.

Monthly visit packages for East Riyadh families

A package is a set of hourly visits spread across the month on a fixed day and shift — it is not a live-in contract. It suits families who want the house to stay in order without having to book every week.

4 visits × 4 hours
From SAR 460 a month; suits flats and mid-sized duplexes.
Twice a week
8 visits × 4 hours
From SAR 875; suits large families in duplexes.
Three times a week
12 visits × 4 hours
From SAR 1,320; suits big villas and homes that host often.

How to book an hourly maid in East Riyadh

  1. 1WhatsApp or call 0561940026 with your district, type of home (flat, duplex, villa) and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
  2. 2Tell us the jobs you need and the length: 4, 5, 6 or 8 hours, and how many maids.
  3. 3Choose a morning or evening shift and a day; the price is confirmed before the visit.
  4. 4We bring the maid to your home on time, and the clock starts when she arrives.
  5. 5When the hours are up we collect her, and you share any feedback so the next visit is even better.

The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking. If you are happy with a particular maid, you can ask for her again on later visits and we will arrange it subject to her schedule.

Available nationalities

We provide maids of African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at the time of booking, such as Kenyan and Ugandan. You are welcome to mention a preferred nationality and we will confirm whether it is available for your slot. What matters most to us is commitment, training and good manners; our maids wear modest uniforms and respect the privacy of your home.

Why book a licensed company rather than a freelance maid?

Someone may offer you a “maid who works by the hour” through word of mouth or an advert, but employing a worker outside the rules puts the household itself at risk. The Domestic Workers Regulation bars an employer from letting their domestic worker work for others, with a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a ban on recruiting for up to 3 years. Employing, transporting or sheltering residency and labour violators can bring up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000, multiplied by the number of violators.

At Al-Kauther Home Services our maids hold valid residency permits, and the company drops them off, collects them and supervises their conduct. You get the service without taking on any legal responsibility for the worker.

Warning: Never take in a maid who has absconded from her employer or has no valid residency, however tempting the price. The penalties fall on whoever employs or shelters her.

Tips before the maid arrives

  • Write your task list in order of priority and start with what matters most, such as the kitchen and bathrooms.
  • Put jewellery, important papers and cash away in a locked place before the visit.
  • Set out the cleaning products you prefer if you agreed to supply them.
  • Tell us in advance about pets or any room you would rather she did not enter.
  • In apartment buildings, let the caretaker know or have the gate code ready so no time is lost on arrival.
  • If you need to change the appointment, let us know early — ideally 24 hours ahead.

Frequently asked questions

When does the visit time start?

The clock starts when the maid arrives at your home, not when she leaves our accommodation. Traffic on the Eastern Ring Road or Khurais Road does not eat into your working hours.

A visit does not include cooking full meals or looking after children alone. The maid helps by cleaning the kitchen and with light preparation, and children stay with the family throughout.

Does the maid bring cleaning supplies?

The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking. Let us know if you prefer to use your own products.

Is there an extra charge for evenings or Fridays?

We offer both morning and evening shifts. Friday and holiday availability, and any price difference, are confirmed when you book on WhatsApp 0561940026.

Can I book a maid to clean up after a family gathering?

Yes. A 5- or 6-hour visit, or two maids for 4 hours, usually suits this depending on the number of guests. You can also book a visit beforehand to prepare the majlis and hospitality.

Can I have the same maid every time?

Yes. Ask for the maid you were happy with by name and we will send her on your next visits, subject to her schedule. This is common with weekly packages.

Is your hourly maid service legal?

Our maids are legally employed with valid residency permits, and the company drops them off and collects them. Employing a worker who breaks residency rules can expose a household to fines of up to SAR 100,000, so always book through a compliant provider.
