Hourly maid service in Jeddah: what you are actually booking
An hourly maid is a trained domestic worker who comes to your home for an agreed number of hours, carries out the housework you have listed, and leaves when the visit ends. You do not sign a long contract, prepare a room, or deal with residency paperwork. Al-Kauther employs the worker, keeps her residency and documents in order, and drives her to your door and back, so your only job is to tell us what the house needs.
In Jeddah the same service goes by several names. A part-time maid usually means a maid who comes on a visit basis rather than living with the family. A cleaning lady per hour, a maid on demand and a house cleaner by the hour all describe the same arrangement: you pay per visit, and the price depends on the number of hours and the number of maids. Whatever you call it, our pricing works on visits of a fixed length, which makes the cost easy to predict before anyone arrives.
The families who use the service most are surprisingly varied. Working couples in north Jeddah apartments book a weekly visit so their weekend is not spent scrubbing. Large families in villas use two maids before a gathering. Expat households who do not sponsor a domestic worker rely on regular visits instead. Others book once — after a renovation, before moving into a new flat, or ahead of Ramadan — and come back when the next big job appears.
Hourly maid prices in Jeddah
The figures below are our starting prices per visit in Jeddah. We set them below the rates published by licensed hourly-maid providers in the city, so you pay less for the same visit length. The final amount depends on how many hours you book, how many maids you need, the size of the home, and whether the visit falls in the morning or evening shift.

How much is a maid per hour in Jeddah?
At SAR 135 for four hours, a standard visit works out at about SAR 34 per hour, and an eight-hour visit from SAR 270 keeps the same hourly rate. A two-hour visit from SAR 90 costs more per hour (about SAR 45) because travel and scheduling take the same effort whatever the length — which is why most households find four hours the better value. For comparison, rates for cleaning help in Jeddah are commonly quoted between SAR 30 and SAR 40 an hour.
Packages bring the cost down further. The weekly package at SAR 460 equals SAR 115 per 4-hour visit, and the 12-visit package at SAR 1,320 comes to SAR 110 per visit. If you already know you will want help every week, a package is cheaper than booking single visits one at a time.
How many hours does a Jeddah home need?
Choosing the right visit length matters more than most people expect. Book too few hours and the maid has to stop halfway through the bathrooms; book too many and you pay for time you did not need. The table below reflects what typically works for homes in Jeddah. Your first visit is often the longest, because it deals with the build-up; regular visits after that can usually be shorter.
If you are unsure, describe the home on WhatsApp — number of rooms and bathrooms, whether there is a majlis, and the jobs you want done — and we will suggest a length. It is easier to plan the right visit than to extend one on the day.
What an hourly maid does in a Jeddah home
A visit is built around your list. Most families ask for a mix of the jobs below; tell us your priorities when you book so the maid starts with what matters most to you and finishes the rest in the time available.
Living rooms, bedrooms and the majlis

The maid dusts surfaces and shelves, vacuums sofas, floor seating and rugs, mops tiled and marble floors, makes beds and changes bed linen, and puts things back where they belong. In Jeddah, where fine dust finds its way indoors even with the windows closed, regular dusting of the sitting rooms and the majlis is usually the job families notice most.
Kitchen cleaning and dishes

She washes and dries dishes, wipes counters, cupboard fronts, the hob and the outside of appliances, cleans the sink, empties the bins and mops the floor. She can also help with simple preparation such as washing vegetables or arranging a fruit plate. Fridge cleaning and reorganising can be added to the list. Cooking full meals is not part of an hourly visit.
Laundry and ironing

Laundry is one of the most requested jobs in family homes: loading and unloading the machine, hanging or drying, folding, ironing shirts and thobes, and putting clothes away. If ironing is your main need, mention it at booking — a full basket can easily fill half of a 4-hour visit.
Bathrooms, windows and glass
Bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected from tiles to fittings, mirrors are polished and floors mopped. Inside glass — windows, balcony doors and shower screens — is wiped clean of the salty film that Jeddah’s humid air leaves behind. Window cleaning covers what can be reached safely from inside; climbing or working on exterior façades is never part of the job.
- ✓Dusting, vacuuming and mopping all rooms
- ✓Bed-making and changing bed linen
- ✓Kitchen surfaces, sink and dishes
- ✓Washing, folding and ironing clothes
- ✓Bathroom cleaning and disinfection
- ✓Interior windows, mirrors and glass doors
- ✓Majlis tidying and rug vacuuming
- ✓Hospitality set-up and clearing after guests
What an hourly visit does not include
These limits follow the practice of licensed hourly-maid providers in Saudi Arabia, and they protect both you and the worker. A maid who is cleaning cannot also watch a toddler safely, and nobody should be asked to stand on a ladder outside a window. We also ask that a woman of the household is at home during the visit where possible; it makes the visit more comfortable for everyone and lets you point out what you want done.
Morning and evening shifts, Fridays and Ramadan
We run two shifts. The morning shift suits families who want the house finished before the children come home and lunch is served. The evening shift suits working couples who are only home after office hours. Either way, the paid time starts when the maid arrives, not when she leaves our office, so Jeddah traffic never eats into your visit.
Because traffic on the main roads can be unpredictable, we give an arrival window rather than an exact minute, and we confirm it when you book. During Ramadan, visit times move to fit the fasting day, and availability on Fridays and public holidays is confirmed at booking. If you need a visit on the day before Eid or a weekend gathering, book early — those slots fill first.
Monthly hourly packages and two-maid visits
A package is simply a set number of hourly visits spread across the month. You choose the visit days, the shift and, as far as availability allows, the same maid each time. It is still an hourly service: the maid comes, works the booked hours, and leaves.
For a big job on a single day, two maids for four hours (from SAR 290) is often better than one maid for eight. The work is split — one takes the bedrooms and bathrooms, the other the kitchen, majlis and laundry — and the house is done by early afternoon. It is the option we suggest most for villas and for clearing up after an occasion.
Hourly maid, live-in maid or monthly visits: which suits you?
Many people searching for a part-time maid in Jeddah are weighing it against other ways of getting help at home. The comparison below is for information; Al-Kauther provides hourly visits and hourly packages only.
For most apartments and many villas, hourly help covers the real need — a thorough clean once or twice a week — without the cost, paperwork and space that a live-in arrangement requires.
How to book an hourly maid in Jeddah
- 1Contact us by phone or WhatsApp on 0561940026, or use the booking form on this page.
- 2Describe the home — district, apartment or villa, number of rooms and bathrooms — and list the jobs you need.
- 3Choose the visit: hours, one or two maids, morning or evening, and the date.
- 4Receive confirmation of the price and the arrival window for your slot.
- 5The maid arrives with basic cleaning tools; the paid time starts at your door.
To speed things up, have these ready when you message us: your district and a location pin, the building or villa number and floor, any gate or security instructions, whether cleaning materials will be provided by you or should be agreed with us, and any jobs that matter most. Cleaning materials are settled at booking — the maid brings the basic tools, and supplies are arranged as agreed.
Rescheduling, changing the maid, or asking for the same one again
Plans change. If you need to move a visit, tell us as early as you can and we will offer the nearest free slot; the rescheduling terms for your booking are explained when you confirm it. If a maid was not a good fit for your home, let us know and we will send someone else next time. And if you were happy with her, ask for the same maid on your next visit — we arrange it whenever she is available, which many families on monthly packages prefer.
Nationalities of our hourly maids
Our maids come from African and Asian nationalities, depending on who is available at the time of booking — for example Kenyan and Ugandan workers. You are welcome to state a preferred nationality when you book, and we will confirm whether it is available for your date and shift. Whatever their nationality, our maids are trained in the same housework standards and the same way of behaving in a family home.
Is hourly maid service legal in Saudi Arabia?
Yes — when it is provided by a company that employs its workers legally. In Saudi Arabia, supplying domestic workers to households on a temporary basis is regulated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the worker must hold a valid residency. What is not allowed is an individual renting out their own domestic worker to other families, or a household hiring a worker who has left her sponsor.
The penalties are serious and fall on the household as well as the worker. Under the Domestic Workers Regulation, an employer who lets a domestic worker work for others faces a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a ban on recruitment of up to three years. Employing, transporting or sheltering a residency or labour violator can bring up to six months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000, multiplied by the number of violators. A cheap offer from a stranger is not worth that risk.
How our maids work in your home
- They arrive in modest uniform, on time within the confirmed window, and introduce themselves before starting.
- They follow your list and your priorities, and ask before moving personal items or entering a room you have not mentioned.
- They respect your privacy: no photos, no visitors, and phones kept away during the visit.
- They work safely, with no ladders outside windows and no mixing of strong chemicals.
- They leave the home tidy and tell you if anything could not be finished in the booked time.
If anything about a visit falls short, call or message us the same day. We would rather hear it immediately and put it right on your next booking than lose a family over something that could have been fixed.
Hourly maids for guests, Ramadan, Eid and moving day
Jeddah homes host a lot — family evenings, engagement visits, condolence gatherings and long Eid days. An hourly maid can prepare the majlis and the guest bathroom, lay out cups, trays and dates, serve tea and Arabic coffee while guests are seated, then clear the room, wash up and clean the kitchen once everyone has left. For larger gatherings, book two maids so one can serve while the other keeps the kitchen moving.
Before Ramadan and Eid, many families book a longer visit or two maids to get through windows, kitchen cupboards and guest rooms in one go. When you move house, a move-out clean helps hand back a rented flat in good condition, and a move-in clean means the cupboards, kitchen and bathrooms are fresh before your things arrive.
Hourly maid service across Jeddah’s districts
We cover the whole city, and travel times differ from one area to another. The north — Al Khalidiyah, Al Rawdah, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Naeem, Al Nuzhah, Al Muhammadiyah and their neighbours — is a mix of villas, compounds and apartment buildings, and it is where most of our bookings come from. Central districts such as Al Sharafiyah, Al Aziziyah, Mushrifah, Al Rabwah and Al Hamra have denser apartment living and busier streets at peak times. The coast, from Al Shati and Al Murjan up to both sides of Sharm Obhur, means larger villas and longer drives, so booking a day ahead helps. In the east, Al Samer has newer apartments and villas.

Each district below has its own guide, with notes on typical homes, the visit lengths that suit them and practical tips for arrival.

- Keep children and pets in another room while floors are wet.
- Tell the maid about any surface that needs special care — natural marble, wood or delicate fabric.
