Al Uraija Al Wusta or “Al Uraija Al Awsat”?
Both names refer to the same district: some property ads write “Al Uraija Al Awsat”, while Al Uraija Al Wusta is the name in common use. It is a west Riyadh district under the Al Uraija sub-municipality, crossed by Al Madinah Al Munawwarah Street with its row of shops; inner streets include Al Hazmah, Al Khaimah, Raniyah, Muhammad Al Sharie, Al Hajrain and Abi Al Mudhafir Al Hamawi. Two districts share part of its name — Al Uraija and Al Uraija Al Gharbi — and each has its own page on our site.
Homes here are varied: villas for sale and rent, flats, floor units and residential buildings. The villas are mostly family homes with a men’s majlis, a women’s majlis and a large living room, which explains why so many of our bookings in Al Uraija Al Wusta revolve around hospitality — relatives at the weekend, a dinner, an engagement or a Ramadan get-together.
Getting your home ready for guests, step by step
A family occasion needs work before it and work after it, and splitting that over two visits is smarter than trying to do everything on the day. Here is a practical plan:
Split this way, the lady of the house is not worn out on the day itself, and each visit stays focused on one clear job. You can book all three together on WhatsApp 0561940026 so we lock in the slots early, especially around Eid when demand rises.
Changing sofa slipcovers and refreshing the living room
Before the season, families often ask us to change fabric sofa slipcovers: the old cover comes off, the fresh one goes on and is pulled snug over the arms and back so it sits without creases, and the cushions are arranged. A new cover, a vacuumed room and clear windows change the look of the space before guests arrive, without spending anything on furniture.

The women’s majlis: lanterns, brass and decorative lights
Women’s majlis rooms in the district’s villas are often dressed with hanging lanterns, brass pieces and ornate lights, and every pierced pattern traps dust. The maid wipes them with a soft dry cloth and reaches hanging pieces at a moderate height from a short, stable household step stool. Very high chandeliers or tall ceilings that need scaffolding or a long ladder are not part of the visit — for the maid’s safety and for your pieces.

Hourly maid prices in Al Uraija Al Wusta
An hourly maid in Al Uraija Al Wusta starts from SAR 135 for 4 hours, SAR 200 for 6 hours and SAR 230 for 8 hours — the same prices as every Riyadh district. The table shows starting prices with the best use for each visit in homes here:
Source: Al-Kauther Home Services. These are starting prices for Riyadh and vary with hours, number of maids, home size and visit time.
Because the cost of an occasion is spread across many things, it helps to know that two maids for 4 hours (from SAR 290) get through roughly what one maid would do in 8 hours in a large villa — in half the time, which matters when guests are arriving that same evening.

Outside occasions, an hourly visit is a great way to keep the house in order. The maid cleans bedrooms, living rooms and the majlis, vacuums rugs, cleans the kitchen and does the washing-up, looks after the bathrooms, washes, irons and puts away clothes, and cleans interior glass and windows. Basic cleaning tools come with her, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking.
Please note: An hourly maid does not cook banquets or full meals and is not left alone with children or elderly relatives. She can help in the kitchen with cleaning, washing-up and preparing serving trays. We prefer a woman of the family to be home throughout the visit.
A short checklist before the maid arrives on guest day
- Decide which majlis the guests will use, so the maid starts there.
- Take out the serving sets you plan to use, leaving time to wash and polish them.
- Set aside a spot near the entrance for guests’ shoes and abayas to keep the hall tidy.
- Tell the maid which private rooms she can skip that day.
- Leave your preferred products for delicate surfaces such as marble or wood where she can see them.
Ramadan and Eid in Al Uraija Al Wusta
Ramadan brings family iftars and Eid brings a stream of visitors, so repeat visits are more useful than one long one. Book seasonal visits early, as demand rises across Riyadh. Shift times usually change in Ramadan, so the arrival time that suits you is confirmed at booking — whether you want things ready before iftar or tidied the following day.
Shifts and the maid’s arrival
The morning shift suits getting the house ready for an evening event; the evening shift suits working families, or extra help while guests are being received. The clock starts when the maid arrives, and we take her to you and back. If your home is near Al Madinah Al Munawwarah Street with its shops and traffic, tell us the nearest entrance from a side street so she is dropped right at your door. Friday and holiday work, and any evening price difference, are confirmed at booking.
Booking steps
- 1WhatsApp us on 0561940026 or call.
- 2Tell us the home type, any occasion coming up and how many majlis rooms and bedrooms there are.
- 3Choose one visit, or a split between before and after the event.
- 4Send your location pin and the nearest entrance.
- 5Receive your confirmation; the maid arrives in the agreed slot.
Who will come to your home?
We send maids of African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at booking — Kenyan and Ugandan, for example — and you can mention a preferred nationality. All are legally employed on valid iqamas, trained in housework, modestly dressed and respectful of family privacy. If you like a particular maid’s work, ask for her on future visits and we will send her whenever she is free.
Why we insist on legal labour is simple: employing a worker who is in breach of the rules or has absconded exposes the householder to a fine of up to SAR 100,000 and up to 6 months in prison, as announced by the General Directorate of Passports. The Domestic Workers Regulation also forbids hiring out a domestic worker to others.
Monthly packages for larger households
Villas with large or multi-generation families often need two visits a week. The 8 visits × 4 hours package starts from SAR 875 a month, 4 visits from SAR 460 and 12 visits from SAR 1,320. All are hourly visits on the days and shifts you choose, with no live-in contract.
