Hourly maids in Al Malqa: who is the service for?
Al Malqa sits in north Riyadh, with King Fahd Road on its east side, King Salman Road to the north and King Khalid Road to the west; As Sahafah, Al Qirawan, Hittin and Al Aqiq are its neighbours. It is one of the most sought-after districts in the north, dominated by large villas alongside newer apartment buildings, residential floors and serviced flats.
That mix means Al Malqa families ask for different things. The owner of a two-storey villa with an annex usually wants a maid who keeps the kitchen, living areas and bedrooms in order on a regular schedule. Someone in a flat or a single floor needs a shorter visit focused on the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Either way, an hourly maid gives you an extra pair of hands only when you need them, without the commitments or the accommodation that a live-in maid requires.
Many households here choose hourly help for a practical reason: the house is big, the kitchen works all week and guests arrive at the weekend. One or two regular visits a week are usually enough to keep the home ready without wearing out the lady of the house.
How much is an hourly maid in Al Malqa?
At Al-Kauther, an hourly maid in Al Malqa starts from SAR 135 for a 4-hour visit with one maid. Standard Riyadh prices apply here, and nothing is added because your home is in the north or because the villa is large. What changes the price is the number of hours, the number of maids and the type of package.

Al Malqa villa kitchens and pantries: where the hours go
Villas in Al Malqa often have two kitchens: an open one facing the dining area, with a marble island and a breakfast bar, and a back kitchen for heavy cooking. This is where most of the maid’s time goes, because grease and smears on glossy surfaces need care, and used cookware piles up quickly in homes that entertain.

During a kitchen visit the maid washes dishes and pans, wipes the worktops, island and cupboard fronts, cleans the hob, the outside of the oven door and the sink, polishes small appliances and finishes with the floor. If you ask in advance, she will also empty the fridge, clean the shelves and put everything back in order.
Cooking itself is not part of the visit. The maid can get the kitchen ready before you cook and clean it afterwards, and wash or chop vegetables if needed, but she does not prepare full meals. Being clear about this keeps your booked hours on the work you booked them for.
How many hours does an Al Malqa villa or flat need?
Our rule of thumb with Al Malqa families is simple: count the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen size, then add an hour if the home has not been cleaned for more than two weeks. The table below is a practical guide for choosing a visit length before you call.
Two maids for four hours get through roughly what one maid does in eight, in half the time. It is the sensible choice before guests arrive, or when you want everything finished before midday.
A rotating cleaning plan for large Al Malqa villas
A big villa does not need every corner cleaned on every visit. It works better to book a monthly package and split the house across the weeks, so the rooms you use constantly always stay clean while the rest take their turn once a month. Here is the plan we suggest with the 4 visits × 4 hours package, from SAR 460:
- 1Week one: main kitchen, bathrooms, family living room and floors.
- 2Week two: bedrooms, a change of bed linen, laundry and ironing.
- 3Week three: the kitchen again, then the pantry, cupboards and fridge.
- 4Week four: majlis, dining room, interior glass and doors, ready for end-of-month guests.

The pantry is exactly the kind of space quick visits skip, even though it affects how the whole kitchen works. In its week, the maid empties and wipes the shelves, groups similar items, moves anything close to its expiry date to the front and puts baskets and jars back where they are easy to reach.
What an hourly visit includes, and what it does not
- ✓Cleaning and tidying bedrooms and living areas, and vacuuming rugs and majlis seating.
- ✓Kitchen cleaning, washing up, and organising cupboards and the fridge on request.
- ✓Bathrooms, mirrors and interior glass.
- ✓Washing, hanging out and ironing clothes, and folding bed linen.
- ✓Setting up hospitality and the majlis before guests, and cleaning after an occasion.
- ✓Move-in cleaning, or cleaning before handing a home back.
Please note: Visits do not include full cooking, sole care of children or elderly relatives, cleaning exterior façades or work at unsafe heights, or moving heavy furniture. We prefer a lady of the household to be at home during the visit.
Basic cleaning tools come with the maid, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking. If your villa has special products for marble or wood, leave them somewhere visible so the maid uses them on the right surfaces.
Morning or evening? Arrival times in Al Malqa
The morning shift suits most Al Malqa homes: the house is quiet once the children leave for school, and the work is done before lunch. The evening shift suits working couples, or anyone preparing the house for guests that same night.
Your visit is timed from the moment the maid reaches your door, not from when she leaves her accommodation, so travel never eats into your hours. Al-Kauther drives the maid to you and collects her afterwards. At rush hour on King Fahd Road and the roads into the district, arrival can run a little late, so we give you a clear arrival window when we confirm and tell you if it changes.
Practical arrival notes for Al Malqa homes
- Location: send a location pin on WhatsApp; some newer Al Malqa streets are better known by number than by name.
- Entrance: tell us which door the maid should use, especially in villas with a main and a service entrance.
- Buildings: if your building has a gate or a guard, give us the flat and floor number so the driver is not kept waiting.
- Stopping: a short spot outside is enough to drop the maid off; no parking is needed for the visit.

Legal workers, several nationalities
Al-Kauther’s maids come from African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at the time of booking, such as Kenyan and Ugandan. You can mention a preferred nationality and we will tell you whether it is available. Every maid is trained in home cleaning and holds a valid residency permit.
Legal residency is not a detail. Employing a worker who is in breach of residency rules or has absconded from her sponsor exposes the householder to penalties of up to SAR 100,000 and up to six months in prison under the Passports regulations. Booking through a company that is responsible for the worker protects you from all of that.
