Al-Kauther Home Services sends hourly maids to Al Qura in central Riyadh, with visits from 2 to 8 hours in a morning or evening shift; a 4-hour visit with one maid starts from SAR 135 and a short 2-hour visit from SAR 90. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026 and share your location pin.
Al Qura is one of the small neighbourhoods in the heart of old Riyadh. Most homes are older houses and flats in buildings that pre-date the modern suburbs by decades, and some have been restored or refitted. That shapes what families here ask for: a focused visit for a compact home, a clean-down of a refurbished flat before moving in, or seasonal help with the roof and the bedding.
At a glance: hourly maids in Al Qura
- Shortest visit: 2 hours from SAR 90 — enough for a room and lounge, or a kitchen and bathroom.
- Most booked: 4 hours with one maid from SAR 135.
- Refurbished flat before moving in: 5 hours from SAR 185 to lift plaster dust and light paint marks.
- Older two-storey house with a roof: 6 hours from SAR 200, or two maids for 4 hours from SAR 290.
- Address: send an exact pin — lanes in the old centre are narrow and some carry numbers rather than names.
- Booking: call or WhatsApp 0561940026, morning or evening.
Which Al Qura? The district in old Riyadh
This page is about Al Qura, Riyadh — the small district in the city centre within old Riyadh, not any similarly named place elsewhere in the Kingdom. It is compact, made up mainly of traditional houses and low two- or three-storey buildings, and the historic core around it is being redeveloped, so you will find refreshed buildings next to ones that have not changed in years.
Because family homes are fewer in the old core than in the northern or eastern suburbs, we handle every Al Qura booking individually. We ask about the type of home, the number of rooms, whether there is a roof or courtyard and which floor you are on, then suggest a visit length. You do not pay for hours you will not use, and the maid arrives knowing what the job is.
How many hours does an Al Qura home need?
Homes here are smaller, but older houses gather more dust than new flats — old window frames and open roofs let it in — so floors, shelves and window ledges take time. Use this as a starting estimate; we will adjust it once you describe the home:
Note: Visit time starts when the maid reaches your door, so an accurate pin means less time lost looking for the entrance.
Cleaning a refurbished flat before you move in
Anyone moving into a flat restored inside an older building knows the scene: new tiles under a fine white film of plaster dust, aluminium doors still carrying bits of protective tape, and a light mist of paint on the windows. This is not a job for a contractor — it needs a patient maid who works from top to bottom and repeats the wipe until the white haze is gone.
In a 5-hour visit from SAR 185, the maid dusts shelves and door tops first, cleans the glass and frames from inside, does the balcony, then the bathroom and kitchen, and finishes by mopping the floors at least twice. If the flat has more than three rooms, book two maids for 4 hours: the work is done in roughly half the time and you can move in the same day.

Please note: Scraping hardened cement or paint off tiles is finishing work, not part of an hourly maid visit; the visit deals with dust and light marks only.
Hourly maid prices in Al Qura
Al-Kauther charges the same Riyadh prices in every district — there is no extra fee because Al Qura sits in the old centre. What moves the total is the number of hours, the number of maids and whether you book a single visit or a monthly package; evening and holiday details are confirmed when you book:
Source: the Riyadh hourly rates published by Al-Kauther Home Services. These are starting prices; the final figure depends on hours, number of maids and visit time.
Roofs and bedding: seasonal jobs in older houses
Many Al Qura houses have an open roof that the family uses for drying laundry and airing mattresses and blankets — an old Riyadh habit from before tumble dryers. When the seasons turn, families want winter bedding brought out or packed away, and the maid helps carry light floor mattresses up to the roof, shake them out, change their covers, wash and iron the washable covers and fold them back into the wardrobes.
That includes sweeping the roof floor and wiping dust off the parapet so the bedding does not get dirty again. Hosing down the roof, clearing drains, or climbing external ladders and walls is not part of the visit, for safety reasons.

What a visit includes — and what it does not
Included
Cleaning and tidying
Sweeping and mopping, dusting, tidying rooms and wardrobes, bathrooms, kitchen cleaning and washing up.
Included
Laundry and ironing
Running the machine, hanging, ironing and folding clothes, changing bed and mattress covers.
Included
Occasions and seasons
Setting up the majlis before guests, tidying after them, and preparing for Ramadan and Eid.
Not included
Cooking and care
No full meals and no sole care of children or elderly relatives; she helps with kitchen cleaning and simple prep only.
Ideally, one of the women of the family stays in during the visit. The maid brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed when you book — tell us if you prefer particular products for old tiles or marble.
Getting to your door in Al Qura’s lanes
- ✓Location pin: send it on WhatsApp — some lanes in the old centre are numbered and drivers will not know them by name.
- ✓Entrance marker: describe the door colour or the nearest shop or mosque, especially if the house has more than one door.
- ✓Floor and stairs: tell us if the flat is upstairs with no lift, so carrying the kit up is allowed for.
- ✓Drop-off point: the car drops the maid at the closest point the lane allows, so keep your phone on at arrival time.

- 4The maid arrives on time, the clock starts on arrival, and our car collects her when the visit ends.
Shifts and monthly packages for homes in the district
Morning suits anyone who wants the house ready before noon; evening suits working families or anyone hosting after dinner. For a regular routine, the 4 visits × 4 hours monthly package starts from SAR 460 — one visit a week — and 8 visits start from SAR 875 for homes with children and plenty of laundry.
For older houses in particular we recommend a weekly visit: dust builds up fast on wooden windows and roofs, and clearing it every week is easier and cheaper than leaving it a month and then booking a long visit.
Legally employed maids, nationalities as available
The maids who come to Al Qura are legally employed workers with valid residency permits, trained in household work and dressed in a modest uniform. Nationalities are African and Asian, as available at the time of booking — Kenyan and Ugandan, for example. You may ask for a preferred nationality and we confirm availability when you book.
A reminder: the Domestic Workers Regulation forbids an employer from letting their own domestic worker work for others, with a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a ban on recruitment for up to three years. Booking through a provider of legally employed workers is safer than hiring someone whose status you do not know.

Besides Al Qura we send hourly maids across the rest of the old centre. For the full Riyadh service see hourly maids in Riyadh.
