Al-Kauther Home Services sends hourly maids to homes in Al Oud, central Riyadh, for visits of 4 to 8 hours in a morning or evening shift, with a 4-hour visit by one maid starting from SAR 135. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026 and tell us how many rooms you have and what you want done.
Al Oud (also written Al Owd) is one of the older central districts under the Al Batha sub-municipality, and most homes offered for rent there are flats in low-rise blocks, some of them three-bedroom units aimed at families. This page is written for those households: how to pick the right number of hours, what a single visit can realistically cover, and how to help the driver find you in the older streets of the centre.
In short
- Most booked visit: a single maid for a four-hour slot, SAR 135 upwards
- Full clean of a three-bedroom flat: 5 hours, from SAR 185
- Deep visit incl. lights and curtains: SAR 200 upwards for 6 hours, SAR 230 upwards for 8
- A fixed weekly slot: a monthly plan of four 4-hour visits, starting at SAR 460
- Shifts: mornings or evenings, timed from the moment she steps into your flat
- Staff: legally resident, trained maids, dropped off and collected by us
Al Oud, Riyadh: what the homes are like and why it matters
Property portals list Al Oud under central Riyadh, and it falls under the Al Batha sub-municipality. Ibn Abi Al Izz Street is one of the streets that appears in local listings, and some portals let you filter for family flats and three-bedroom units here. That gives a fair picture of the homes we clean: mid-sized family apartments in blocks of a few storeys, alongside older houses still lived in by their owners.
Homes like these have their own needs. An apartment in an older building is usually a decent size but full of detail: higher ceilings, pendant lights, heavy curtains on metal rods and a kitchen in constant use. Because the area is close to busy commercial streets and to renovation and redevelopment work in the city centre, fine dust settles on high surfaces faster than most families expect. The floors look spotless while the lampshades and curtain tops quietly turn grey.
How many hours does a flat in Al Oud need?
Hours are the first thing Al Oud families ask about. The answer depends on three things: the number of rooms and bathrooms, whether you want a light routine clean or a full one, and whether lights and curtains should be part of the same visit. Use the table below as a starting point; after the first visit you will know how quickly the work goes in your own home and can adjust.
If the flat is cleaned every week, four hours usually covers three bedrooms, because the job becomes upkeep rather than catching up. For a first visit after a long gap we suggest booking one or two extra hours, then moving to the shorter visit.
Lights and curtains: the jobs families put off for months
The same scene repeats in many homes in the old districts. The floor is mopped every day, yet the fabric lampshade in the sitting room has not been touched in ages and the curtain rods carry a layer of dust you only notice when the sun comes through. These are the spots that make a home feel genuinely clean, so we suggest Al Oud families set aside part of a monthly visit for them rather than saving them for a big occasion.

Pendant lights and fabric shades
The maid brushes fabric shades with a soft brush or a dry microfibre cloth and wipes metal and glass fittings from the outside once the light is off and cool. Anything she can reach safely from a stable household step ladder is part of the visit; taking down chandeliers or dealing with wiring is a job for an electrician, not a housekeeper.
Curtain rods and rings
Brass and metal rods are wiped with a damp cloth and dried straight away so they do not spot, heavy curtains are shaken out and their hems vacuumed where dust collects. If you want the curtains themselves washed, take them down the day before; the maid can then wash whatever is safe for a home machine, iron it and hang it back during the visit.

Hourly maid prices in Al Oud
Prices in Al Oud are the same as across the rest of Riyadh; there is no extra charge for a central location. These are starting prices that move with the number of hours, the number of maids, the size of the home and the timing of the visit:

Note: Pricing for evening visits, Fridays and public holidays is confirmed when you book, so ask about it in your first message and you will know the amount before the slot is fixed.

A visit does not include cooking full meals: the maid can clean the kitchen and help with prep such as washing and chopping vegetables, but she does not cook. She is not a babysitter or a carer for elderly relatives either, so children stay with the family throughout. Exterior facades, risky work at height and moving heavy furniture are also outside the visit. We also ask that a woman of the family stays at home for the duration of the visit.
Morning or evening? Choosing a shift in Al Oud
The morning shift suits homes where the mother or an older daughter is in during the day: the children are at school and the house is quiet. Families where everyone works usually pick the evening shift, since it is better to have a woman of the household present. Either way, the hours are counted from the moment the maid reaches your door, not from when she leaves her accommodation.
Monthly packages: a fixed visit instead of booking every time
If you already know you need help every week, a monthly package saves both time and money. Four 4-hour visits start from SAR 460 a month, eight visits from SAR 875 and twelve visits from SAR 1,320. They are all hourly visits on days you choose, and you can ask for the same maid you were happy with whenever she is available.
How to book an hourly maid in Al Oud
- 1WhatsApp 0561940026 with the district (Al Oud, Riyadh), the type of home and the number of rooms and bathrooms.
- 2List the jobs that matter most, especially if you want lights, curtains or laundry included.
- 3Choose the number of hours, a morning or evening shift and the day.
- 4Share your location pin from Google Maps with the building number, floor and door colour.
- 5You receive a confirmation with the time and price; the driver drops the maid off and collects her at the end.
Before the maid arrives in Al Oud: access and entrance notes
Many streets in central Riyadh’s older districts are narrow and some buildings have no clear sign, so a pin sent from your phone is worth more than directions in words. Mention the nearest mosque or shop if there is one, and anything that makes your building entrance easy to spot.
- ✓ If the building has no lift, tell us the floor so we allow time for carrying equipment up.
- ✓ Point out a spot nearby where the driver can stop for a few minutes.
- ✓ Have a stable step ladder ready if lights and curtains are on the list.
- ✓ Lock jewellery and important documents away before the maid comes in.
Maid nationalities and why we only work with legal staff
Our maids come from African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at the time of booking, for example Kenyan and Ugandan. You can mention a preferred nationality and we will confirm whether it is available. Every maid holds a valid residence permit, is trained in housework and wears a modest uniform. She brings the basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed when you book.
Legal staffing is not a formality. Saudi rules penalise anyone who employs or shelters a worker in breach of residence and labour regulations with a fine of up to SAR 100,000 and up to six months in prison, with the fine multiplied by the number of workers involved. Booking through a clearly identified provider is the safe route for a family.
