If you live in Skirinah, central Riyadh, and need help getting the house ready for guests or a new flat ready to move into, Al-Kauther Home Services will send you an hourly maid for 4 to 8 hours in the morning or evening, with four hours priced from SAR 135. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026.
Skirinah is a small district of old Riyadh. Its property listings show traditional houses for sale, apartment buildings and flats for rent — on Ibn Warqa Street, for example — and residential plots waiting to be built on. That mix means family requests here usually come down to two things: a traditional house whose majlis receives guests, and a rented flat that changes hands and needs cleaning when tenants move in and out. This page focuses on both.

An hourly maid to help you host in a traditional house
A traditional house in Skirinah has a majlis or reception room that is the family’s face to its visitors, and any call from relatives or neighbours means that room has to be neat and clean with the serving ware ready. The maid beats out the floor cushions and back rests, vacuums the carpet, wipes the low wooden tables, polishes the brass trays and jugs, and sets out water glasses, juice glasses and coffee cups before the first guest arrives.
While guests are there she can serve water, coffee and dates, collect empty glasses and wash them as she goes so the kitchen does not pile up. Once they leave she puts the majlis back to rights: sweeping the floor, treating spills on the carpet as far as possible, and washing and returning the serving ware to the cupboard. The food itself stays with the family or the restaurant, as an hourly visit does not include cooking meals.

Note: In summer the first thing a guest asks for is cold water, so have the maid fill the jugs and put them in the fridge at the start of the visit, and lay out the glasses at least half an hour before the guests are due.
Hourly maid prices in Skirinah
Al-Kauther uses its single Riyadh price list in Skirinah: a 4-hour visit with one maid starts from SAR 135 and an extra hour from SAR 50. The final cost follows the length of the visit, the number of maids and the type of package; an evening or holiday slot may be priced differently and is confirmed when you book:
These are starting prices used by Al-Kauther Home Services for its hourly maid service in Riyadh; the actual amount follows the hours, number of maids and visit time.
Cleaning a rented flat before you move in — and after you leave
Flats for rent in Skirinah’s older buildings sometimes sit empty for weeks between tenants, and a thick layer of dust settles in — especially around doors, windows and air-conditioning vents. Before the new family brings in its furniture, cleaning is far easier while the flat is bare. The maid usually works from the inside out towards the door: wiping washable walls, doors and handles, cleaning bathrooms and the kitchen including inside the cupboards, washing the floor tiles, and finishing with the entrance, the iron security door and the stair landing outside.
Moving out of a rented flat means the same work for a different reason: handing the place back clean to the landlord, which in many cases makes getting the deposit back easier. Here we suggest two maids for 4 hours, because the time between moving the furniture out and returning the key is usually tight.

Before moving in
The empty flat
Dust on walls and doors, bathrooms, kitchen cupboards inside, floor tiles, windows from inside, the entrance.
After moving out
Returning the key
Floors after the furniture goes, furniture marks on tiles, kitchen and bathrooms, clearing leftover cardboard and bags.
Not included
Maintenance work
Repainting or plumbing repairs, washing the building’s exterior, lifting or moving heavy furniture.
What a visit covers in Skirinah homes
Beyond hosting and flat preparation, the maid handles the usual housework: cleaning rooms, tidying wardrobes and beds, washing up and wiping kitchen surfaces, cleaning bathrooms, washing and ironing clothes, wiping windows and glass from inside, and vacuuming carpets and rugs. She brings basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking.
On the other side, the visit does not include cooking full meals, caring for children or elderly relatives on her own while the family is out, hosing down roofs and yards, or climbing high ladders. It is best if a woman of the household is present to point the maid to what matters most to the family first.
How many hours are enough? By situation
Getting to Skirinah and choosing a time
Skirinah’s streets are like the rest of old Riyadh: narrow lanes, buildings shoulder to shoulder, small squares between houses, and some spots changed by demolition and rebuilding. The best thing you can do is send your location from the map and, if you are in a flat, give the building number and floor, since many older buildings have no lift. Visit time is counted from when the maid reaches your door.
A morning visit suits empty-flat cleaning, as the light is clearer and the heat milder early in the day; an evening visit suits receiving guests after Asr or Maghrib. Friday and holiday slots are confirmed at booking.
Booking steps
- 1Message or call 0561940026 and mention “Skirinah, central Riyadh”.
- 2Say what you need — hosting, a flat before move-in, a move-out handover or regular cleaning — and send your pin.
- 3Choose the hours, number of maids and shift; we confirm the slot and price.
- 4The maid arrives by company car and leaves with it at the end of the booked time.
Monthly packages for homes that host often
Some traditional houses in the district rarely have an empty majlis, and that is where a monthly package beats booking each visit separately: 4 visits a month of 4 hours from SAR 460, 8 visits from SAR 875, or 12 visits from SAR 1,320. You can time the package visits ahead of the days you know guests will call, and ask for the same maid if she is available.
Legal workers from several nationalities
The maids Al-Kauther sends are legally employed with valid residency permits, trained and modestly dressed, from African and Asian nationalities as available when you book — Kenyan and Ugandan, for example — and you can ask for the nationality you prefer.
Families are sometimes offered a neighbour’s or relative’s domestic worker on loan for a few hours. That breaks the Domestic Workers Regulation, which bars an employer from letting their worker work for others and penalises it with a fine of up to SAR 20,000 or a recruitment ban of up to three years. Booking through a clear, accountable company spares everyone that trouble.
