Al-Kauther Home Services sends hourly maids to Manfuhah, just south of central Riyadh, to clean older family houses and apartment blocks. Visits start at 4 hours from SAR 135, and an extra hour starts from SAR 50 when you need it. To book, call or WhatsApp 0561940026.
Manfuhah is not just another dot on the Riyadh map. It is one of the oldest settlements in the area, and its homes differ from those in newer districts: inside staircases, long corridors, built-in cupboards and rooms set aside for storage. Anyone who lives in one knows it takes more time and patience to clean than its floor area suggests.
At a glance
- Basic visit: 4 hours with one maid from SAR 135
- Multi-storey houses: 5 hours from SAR 185 or 6 hours from SAR 200
- Extra hour: from SAR 50, useful in houses with long staircases
- Most requested in Manfuhah: staircase and corridor cleaning, organising linen cupboards and storerooms
- Getting there: we need an exact map pin and house number, as inner streets are narrow and look alike
- Maids: legally employed with valid residency, African and Asian nationalities as available
- Booking number: 0561940026
Manfuhah: one of Riyadh’s oldest districts, with homes of their own kind
Manfuhah lies in south Riyadh close to the centre, under Al Batha Municipality, with Manfuhah Al Jadidah next to it. Historians describe it as an old village that predates Riyadh’s growth by centuries, and it is linked with the poet Al-A’sha, who lived there, which is why the main street through the district carries his name: Al-A’sha Street. Remains of old mud-brick buildings still stand among the more recent houses.
Most homes today are terraced two-storey family houses and older three- or four-storey apartment blocks without lifts, some shared by more than one family. These buildings were made to last: terrazzo stairs, hard floors, cupboards built into the walls and storage rooms under the stairs or on the roof. Cleaning here is not just wiping surfaces; it means a lot of climbing and sorting out places nobody opens except at certain times of year.
Cleaning stairs and corridors in older houses
The inside staircase is the dirtiest part of many Manfuhah homes and the one people notice least. Dust settles in the corners of each step, a decorative iron banister holds grime between its scrolls where a mop never reaches, and the wall beside the stairs collects hand marks. The maid usually works from the top down, so dust does not fall back onto what she has already cleaned:
- ✓Sweep each step and its corners, then mop with a cleaner suited to terrazzo and tiles
- ✓Clean the iron banister and its gaps and wipe the wooden handrail
- ✓Remove hand marks from the wall alongside the stairs
- ✓Clean the landings and the corridors between rooms
- ✓Wipe doors, handles and light switches

In a two-storey house the stairs and corridors take around an hour of the visit, so we advise Manfuhah families to start with five hours rather than four if they want the whole house done.
Organising linen cupboards and storerooms
Built-in cupboards along the corridors of older houses fill up over the years with blankets, sheets and spare bedding for guests. Many families book a visit just for this: emptying the cupboards, cleaning the shelves, then putting everything back folded and arranged so each item is easy to find. It is an ideal visit before winter, when the blankets come out, or before Ramadan and Eid, when guest bedding is prepared.

Hourly maid prices in Manfuhah
Prices in Manfuhah are the same Al-Kauther prices used across Riyadh, starting from SAR 135 for a 4-hour visit. We have ordered the table so the options that best suit multi-storey houses come first:
Al-Kauther Home Services hourly maid prices for Riyadh. All are starting prices and vary with length and number of maids.
What changes the price is the number of hours, the number of maids and the shift; evening slots, Fridays and holidays are confirmed at booking. In a house shared by several families, each family can book its own visit for its floor, or you can agree on a longer visit that also covers shared areas such as the stairs and entrance.
How many hours should you book for a Manfuhah home?
- Flat in an older block without a lift: 4 hours covers a full clean, kitchen and bathroom.
- Single-storey house with a roof: 4 hours, plus one hour if the roof is used for drying laundry.
- Two-storey house with inside stairs: 5 to 6 hours, because the stairs and corridors take time.
- Sorting cupboards and storerooms: a separate 4-hour visit dedicated to that alone.
- House shared by two families: two maids for 4 hours, from SAR 290, one on each floor.
Reaching your home on narrow streets
Many of Manfuhah’s inner streets are narrow, the doors of terraced houses look alike, and some addresses do not show accurately in map apps. None of that stops us getting there, but we need three things when you book: a pinned location rather than just the district name, a description of the door such as its colour or number, and a phone number that will answer the driver. If it is hard to stop outside your house, tell us the nearest suitable drop-off point.
Visit times: morning before the heat, or evening
There are two shifts, morning and evening, and the arrival time is set when you book. In summer many Manfuhah families prefer mornings, because going up to the roof to hang laundry is easier before the heat builds. Evenings suit people who work during the day, or families getting the house ready for relatives after sunset. In Ramadan the timings change to suit the fast.
Getting the house ready for Ramadan and Eid in Manfuhah
Older family houses in Manfuhah bring the wider family together in the holiday seasons, with sons and daughters who have moved to other districts returning to spend Eid in the family home. Demand for hourly maids therefore rises in the two weeks before Ramadan and in the last days before Eid. We suggest splitting the preparation over two visits: the first for the heavy work such as stairs, cupboards and kitchen, and the second a day or two before the season for the majlis, bathrooms and guest rooms.
- ✓Take guest bedding and blankets out of the cupboards, air them and arrange them
- ✓Wash the trays and serving dishes that only come out for occasions
- ✓Clean the majlis, vacuum the rugs and set out the cushions
- ✓After Eid: a visit to put the house back in order and store the bedding
What the service does not include
What it does include is all the usual work of a home: bedrooms and majlis, kitchen and dishes, bathrooms, washing, hanging and ironing, glass from the inside, hospitality set-up for gatherings and clearing up afterwards, and cleaning a home before moving in or after moving out.
Maid nationalities and cleaning tools
Our maids are of African and Asian nationalities depending on availability at the time of booking, such as Kenyan and Ugandan, and you can ask for a preferred nationality for us to confirm. All are trained and wear a modest uniform. The maid brings the basic cleaning tools, and cleaning products are as agreed at booking. If your floors are terrazzo, let us know which cleaner you normally use.
Why a legal maid, not someone found on the street?
In busy older districts someone may offer an “hourly maid” at a lower price with no clear legal status. It looks cheaper but can prove costly: employing or sheltering a worker who breaks residency or labour rules can expose a household to up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to SAR 100,000, and a domestic worker working for someone other than their employer exposes that employer to a fine of up to SAR 20,000. Al-Kauther maids are legally employed with valid residency, and the company drops them off and collects them.
