Where is King Abdullah District in Riyadh?
King Abdullah District is one of the largest districts in Riyadh at almost 12 km². It falls under the Al Olaya municipality and sits by exit 12 of the ring road. The Eastern Ring Road with Ar Rawdah and Al Quds lies to the east, Makkah Al Mukarramah Road and Ar Rabwah to the south, King Abdulaziz District to the west, and King Abdullah Road and Al Mughrizat to the north.
We mean the residential district here, not King Abdullah Road, which runs along its northern edge. The district holds major landmarks such as the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, King Abdulaziz Public Library, Wahat Al Seha Hospital, the King Salman Social Center, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Civil Defence and the Royal Saudi Land Forces headquarters, as well as Moringa Park and Al Dana Park. It is a quiet area, mainly villas along with furnished flats.
Note: Because the district is so large, send an accurate location pin when booking and mention your nearest landmark, such as Moringa Park, Al Dana Park or the exhibition centre, so the driver arrives without delay.
Hourly maids in Ramadan: setting up the iftar spread
Ramadan changes the rhythm of the whole house. Days are quiet, then everything speeds up before Maghrib: laying the spread, arranging the seating, setting out dates, coffee and water, then tidying up after iftar. Many families in King Abdullah District gather in the courtyard or the large majlis, which calls for an extra pair of hands at set times.

An hourly maid lays the floor spread, sets out dishes and glasses, prepares the hospitality and helps serve, then gathers the plates, washes up and cleans the area. Cooking the food itself stays with the family, as the maid does not cook full meals. Visit times change during Ramadan, so the available shift and arrival time are confirmed at booking, and it is wise to book at the start of the month.
Before Eid: a cleaning plan in stages
Trying to clean an entire villa on the last night before Eid is exhausting and leaves the job half-done. It works better to spread the work over two or three visits in the final week:
- First visit (4 hours): bedrooms and wardrobes, sorting clothes, and machine-washing bedding and light washable curtains.
- Second visit (two maids × 4 hours): majlis, lounges, rugs, inside glass and bathrooms.
- Final visit (4 hours): kitchen, serving ware and entrances, plus a last tidy before Eid visitors arrive.
Altogether this plan costs less than a last-minute scramble, and the home stays in order through the final days of Ramadan. If you would like something different, tell us the number of rooms and your priorities and we will suggest a schedule.
A home with children: tidying the playroom without the maid becoming a nanny
The playroom is one of the fastest rooms to fall into chaos in a family home. The maid gathers the toys back into their boxes, wipes foam floor tiles and the surfaces children touch, vacuums the rug and cleans drawers and low shelves.

An hourly maid is not a nanny, though, and she does not stay with children on her own. Children remain with the family during the visit, and it is preferable for a woman of the household to be present. The easiest time to clean the playroom is while the children are at school or in another room with their parents.

In every case the time starts when the maid arrives at your home, and Al-Kauther brings her and takes her back.

In ordinary months most families are well served by the 4-visit plan from SAR 460, or the 8-visit plan from SAR 875 for larger homes. In Ramadan many choose the 12-visit plan from SAR 1,320, three visits a week, spread across the family gathering days and finishing with the pre-Eid clean.
On a plan you can ask for the same maid, who is sent when available. If you need to change a slot, tell us early so it can be rescheduled.
Legal maids, nationalities by availability
The maids Al-Kauther sends are legally employed with valid residency, trained and modestly dressed. Maids of African and Asian nationalities are available depending on availability at booking, such as Kenyan and Ugandan, and you can request a preferred nationality, confirmed when you book.
Warning: Workers of unknown status are often offered during busy seasons. Employing someone who breaks residency and labour rules can expose the householder to a fine of up to SAR 100,000 and up to 6 months in prison, and letting a domestic worker work for others is prohibited, with employer fines of up to SAR 20,000.
Tips before the maid arrives
- Prepare a task list in order of priority, especially in Ramadan when time before iftar is short.
- Put the dishes and serving ware you will use for guests in one place.
- Move medicines and harmful products out of children’s reach before cleaning begins.
- If your villa is near the government buildings or the exhibition centre, say so, as access roads can get busy during office hours or events.
